The Double Standard

Love this place!! Outdoor patio is unique with the Redwood trees. But even indoors is a great place to sit. The drinks are good, fairly priced, staff is great, and great music! Wasn't a fan of the food which was served from a nearby restaurant, but I went there primarily for drinks and I can't wait to go back!

One of my favorite bars in Oakland! The bartenders are lovely and the drinks are strong! What more could you ask for? My favorite cocktail is the whiskey buck!

Delicious drinks, the best vibes and music, and the most down-to-earth bartenders! It's my favorite bar in Oakland! The outdoor area has these beautiful trees and good speakers so you can still hear the DJ's jams😊 you HAVE to go see the Christmas decorations, so detailed and done with love!

The holiday takeover for December is super cute. I like that you can buy the glassware and proceeds go to charity. Try the SanTaRex!

I thought this would be a dime a dozen dive bar type spot, but thankfully I was wrong. It was pretty poppin for a Monday evening, but not enough to where it was overwhelming. The trees are fantastic, and the cocktails were actually good! We even got a nifty NA cocktail as a nightcap. I'll be coming back next time …

Very cute bar, it is all decorated for Christmas and has different themes. They must wrapped up the Doggpound which had drinks named after the worker's dogs. Now they are switching over to Christmas. Very large bar, went on a Sunday and it wasn't very busy, but probably more people would go on Fri/Sat.

Amazing bartender! The young black lady was great!! She made our drinks perfect and even recommended a new drink for me to try!!! They don't have all of the variety of spirits but the basics. The beer on tap was good but the golden city cider is not very strong.

Quality drinks made by cool servers. The back patio with the large tree is a classic in Oakland. Very fun and chill bar to go to.

This place is super cool inside and out. They have it all decked out for Christmas and it’s a must see bar. The redwood trees on the back patio are a nice vibe. The drinks were also very very good! Get the marshmallow unicorn drink !

Yes, it gets busy. The Double Standard is my Holiday standard in Oakland. They really go all out during the holidays. Drink menu, decor, everything. Their lovely Coast redwoods are the Christmas trees! Eggnog, brandy drinks, hot buttered rum, antique Victorian sounding drinks in specialty holiday glassware. All delicious.
