My first time here, traveling from out of state. Several locals recommended this place so I had to stop in. Late lunch. While I was waiting for my Togo order the owner/manager saw me wandering around the dining room looking at all the cool memorabilia and asked if it was my first time here. He gave me the grand tour! …

Hal & Mal’s is Jackson Landmark! A go-to spot for lunch, dinner and drinks and a great brunch! This is the place to people-see and eat! Shrimp poboy as fine as anything New Orleans has to offer, along with the Gumbo. Excellent fresh cut fries. Just crisp, salty potato goodness. The brunch breakfast is satisfying! Eggs cooked to order, a …

Truly enjoyed my visit to this local spot. They had a bar, table seating, and a live band on this day. It was so nice. The decor is nostalgic. I learned this place used to be a train station. The bartender was so nice and helpful. She made menu suggestions and also made really good drinks. We tried the Ouster …

Nice lunch great oyster/shrimp poboy. Very good oysters which are often the weak spot because a lot of places overcook them. Great french bread light and airy making the s/oyster fill u up not the bread.

I really enjoyed eating here! The menu all sounds so good it’s hard to choose but the catfish po’boy was fresh and delicious, and the fries were excellent. The atmosphere is vibrant, and the team are welcoming and helpful. I’d definitely recommend visiting.

Mix and match oyster shrimp poboy with the green goddess remoulade was a 9.2/10. Service by the ladies at the bar on a Saturday was phenomenal. From the menu recommendations to the sauces provided were perfect. Po-Boy would’ve been 9.7/10 if the shrimp and oysters were hotter but hey it was next to cold lettuce so not their fault. Amazing …

Hal & Mal’s was a fantastic stop on my 2,600-mile road trip to pick up my daughter from college in Louisiana. I was charging my Tesla across the street and decided to come in, and I’m glad I did. The atmosphere was excellent, the food was outstanding, and the overall vibe made this place memorable. I’ll definitely be back to …
