This is a remarkable community institution of great historical importance, which must be preserved at all costs. I can easily imagine the centre established in 1882, must've had a glorious past but possibly due to a lack of funding its value substantially diminished and condition deteriorated over the decades, leaving the building in a state of severe dilapidation today. Good old man kept our bags safe for like 5-7 hours. Cost me 1000 rupees for two bags. Worth every rupee. They were soo heavy. He gave us a good place for food!
A safe and comfortable place to stay for youngsters and everyone who come from far to work, explore Colombo and etc.
The indoor grounds was good. The outdoor grounds can be improved, but not bad.
The Colombo YMCA is a great place surrounded by people we love. The staff were helpful overall. The conference hall is spacious and good for a 50-plus event. They have their own restaurant and takeaway outlet. The Colombo YMCA gives us the option of dining in their area or to go outside and have something we would love to taste.
I stayed two nights on the occasion of independence day to extend my visa. The location near the train station is convenient. It has the charm of an old building, it is simple, clean, basic for 3500RP. Cannot ask for more!
